Roxilene Sotolongo was about to attend Mass in Santa Rita de Casia Church. When she left the Ladies in White Headquarters in 10 de Octubre, she was detained and beaten by combined forces consisting of State Security officials (DSE), National Revolutionary Police (PNR), Rapid Response Unit and members of the Communist Party. Their intention was to prevent Roxilene from participating in Mass. She was released 12 hours later.
