Noelia Díaz Gutierrez was detained at the checkpoint located on the Santiago de Cuba highway when she was travelling with her husband to the Santiago de Cuba Province. Two police officers approached the vehicle they were travelling in and asked for the IDs. The name of Noelia's husband was on the list of people who cannot travel. When she saw that her husband was detained without committing any crime, she started to protest. She was though taken by force from the bus, put in a patrol car and driven to the police station located in the Reparto Caribe in Guantánamo Province. There she was detained for about 5 hours. Then she was given an official written warning and released.
