In the afternoon, 24 July 2020, a human rights activist Diosbany Salazar Rodríguez, having left the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU) in Guantánamo, was passing through the Los Maceos Street and La Avenida. Suddenly, a white car stopped next to him and several State Security officials known as Sergio, Kevin, Luis Ángel and Lionis got off the car. They put a hood over his head and kidnapped him. On the halfway, they told Diosbany that he will be soon "kicked off the car". In total, the victim was taken more than 15 km away from the city. Before leaving, the officials stole his money and all his personal belongings. At 7 pm on the same day, the officials let him go.
