An activist beaten up by policemen and detained for two days

An activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Adrián Quesada Flores, was violently detained by several policemen on the street when he was on his way home. The officials beat him up and then took him to the 3rd Police Unit in the municipality of Camagüey. There, he was interrogated by State Security agents known as Frank and Michael. They threatened him with a trial for an alleged assault. The activist reacted by going on hunger strike. The officials released him on 4 May at about 10 am and imposed on him a preventive measure of house arrest for the above-mentioned crime.
