Bartolo was on his way to the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church to attend Sunday Mass. When he was passing through Los Maceos and 3 Sur Street, State Security (DSE) officials known as Kevin and Gamboa stopped him and detained him. Then, Bartolo was taken to the DSE Unit called Operations. He was released at 11 am on the same day.
