Human rights activist summoned and threatened by the State Security



On 25 January 2020, José Cano Fuentes was summoned by a sector chief Yunier Suárez Sarmiento to the police unit known as Parque 24. There he was threatened by the State Security officials for having alleged links with criminals. He was told that if the Statue of José Martí was damaged, sprayed or a poster appeared in its surroundings, he would be prosecuted for dangerousness. Moreover, he was banned from leaving his house at night on 28 January. He was released on the same day three hours later.
