As every Sunday, Marelis was heading to the Mass in the church of Santa Rita de Cassia. When she came to the park José Martí where the church is located she was detained. They put her in the patrol car no. 605, they were driving her around the city until the Mass ended. After 2 hours, they released her on the road of El Salvador.
Marelis, Lady in White, has been threatened on several occasions to go to prison for her activism.
