Yoanny was detained for 7 hours on his way to a protest

On December 18, people throughout Cuba took to the streets to call for the release of political prisoners and respect for civil society and human rights. Activist Yoanny Beltrán Gamboa was going to Martí Park to attend the protest, when he was arrested by police and State Security forces (officers Kevin, Antoni and Harris), all commanded by Captain Sergio, the leader of the Guantanamo unit. He was transferred to the police unit where he remained for more than 7 hours and where he was threatened with imprisonment and losing custody of his youngest son.
