Teacher lost his job because he had “too many” failed students

Alain Lobaina Laseria was a Maths teacher in Pedro Augustin Pérez Secondary School in El Salvador municipality. He had 8 failed students in April course 2012-2013. After that, the Head of Department sent him a letter where she suggested “better not having failed students” or his evaluation might result badly. Consequently, Alain sent a letter of complaint to the government and to the local municipality of El Salvador explaining what had happened to him. Previously Alain had worked in Polytechnic Institute 2 and Information Technology Institute and IPVC José Maceo and lived the same experience. Finally, on August 30, 2013, due to the fact that Alain turned to the government and local authorities, he was expelled from his job at Pedro Augustin Pérez Secondary School.
