Yoandris Gutierrez Vargas is a part of the Republican Party of Cuba and is a Vice-Director in Granma province. On June 30, 2013 in response to the repressive acts against the Human Rights activists in Granma on July 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26, 2013, a few of the party's activists distributed some copies and flyers reporting these acts in Bayamo. Many of them were arrested including Yoandris who remained 4 hours in detention in the police station.
