Detained for 96 hours because of alleged beef traffic

Ramon was detained on the road near San Germán driving his car. The police searched the car and found two pounds (0.9 kg) of meat. Therefore, he was taken to the police unit, where he was detained for 96 hours for alleged beef traffic. From the moment of the detention until he was released, the authorities were not able to determine the origin and the type of the meat. So they imposed a bail of 1500 CUP (65,6 CUC) until the day of judgment. The trial has not been held yet and is common in cases like this that the trial is never held.
