An activist from Guantánamo detained and beaten up by police officer in front of the court

Roberto de Jesús Quiñones Haces, a lawyer and independent journalist, was detained at the entrance of the Municipal People's Court of Guantánamo. There, the journalist was about to follow a court case of a couple Rigal-Expósito, processed for their intention to educate their children at home. An official from the National Revolutionary Police attacked Quiñones and caused perforations in the eardrum of his right ear. However, the doctor who examined him later did not report about the injury. Quiñones Haces was kept in a prison cell for about five days.
