Niober García Fournier is committed to the Cuban Youth Movement for Democracy and was taken into detention on August 21, 2013 by the police and DSE agents when expressing his support to Juan Luis Bravo Rodríguez. Rodríguez was protesting against the appalling Cuban health care system in front of the Omar Ranedo Pubillones polyclinics.
