Gilberto was on the road between Baguano and Holguín, when a police car parked next to his car. Two policemen and one agent of the political police got off the car and authoritatively ordered to go with them. Gilberto asked about the reason, but he was told that he would be informed in the police unit and the only thing that he should know an the moment was that he was being detained. He was warned that he should be very careful because he could be imprisoned very easily for being mercenary and a son of a bitch (exact words). They transferred him to the prison in Holguín and after 3 hours of being there, he went for interrogation. They explained to him that the reason of his detention was his trip to Holguín in order to participate in a meeting to organize a march on streets. He was told that they would not allow it under any circumstances. He was threatened with his head being broken and imprisoning him. The victim says that when he manifested his right to march and to protest peacefully, but he received two shoves and they put him back to the cell, where he remained until the the night when he was released. Due to being outside of his hometown, he could not return to his house until the next day, so he had to sleep in a house of an activist from Holguín.
