Man detained for more than 24 hours for expressing his political opinion

Alexis González Gómez was detained by a sector chief and officials from the Ministry of Interior (MININT), when he was publicly expressing his opinion on the economic and political situation of the country. He said that the elections had been just facade of the government to show that the voting process in Cuba was free, but in reality it was orchestrated by state. Alexis was interupted by MININT officials who took him to the police unit known as Parque 24. There, he was kept under detention for more than 24 hours. He was released on 26 March at 7:00 am. He was threatened that if he did it again, he would be prosecuted for disobedience and enemy propaganda.
