Diaz Leyva was detained by Caballero Rigondeaux and Sánchez Fernández, officials from the Interior Ministry. The victim had clothes and jewelry that was sent to him from Nicaragua to be given for Mother's Day. He was detained and handcuffed violently and was left with bruises all over his body. He was taken to the the 24th Park Police Unit where he was held for 15 hours. He was freed the following day with a warning letter and a fine of 500 pesos (20 Euros).
