Eralidis Frometa was going to attend and event organized by Ladies in White Movement. When she left her house in San Francisco de Paula Municipality, she was detained by State Security officials (DSE) and National Revolutionary Police (PNR), so she could not join the event. She was taken to the detention center known as El Vivac, where she was kept for more than 10 hours.
