Yuneisis was detained for four hours without being able to sit, go to the bathroom, or have anything to drink

Yuneisis Amaya Arias is one of the eleven Ladies in White that were detained by the political police in order to keep them from attending the Sunday Mass in the Nuestra Señora del Rosario church. That day the city was full of political police activity: motorcycles, patrol cars, jeeps, uniformed officials and undercover officials. The eleven women were detained and taken to a local police unit where there were no bathrooms, no water to drink, and nowhere to sit down so they stood for hours during the four hours of the detention.
