Independent journalist detained when heading to Havana to support San Isidro Movement

Rolando Rodríguez Lobaina was detained by a patrol car with two policemen at the petrol station located on the kilometer 259 on the national highway belonging to the province of Villa Clara. Rolando was heading to the province of Havana in order to support activists from the San Isidro Movement. Those activists were sieged by the State Security (DSE) when they declared a hunger strike since they had not been allowed to deliver food supplies. Rolando was then taken to the province of Santiago de Cuba and from there to his native Guantánamo. There he spent a night in the DSE detention center called Operations. On the next day, he was informed that he would not be allowed to support San Isidro and to leave the province in those days. Then he was eventually released.
