The activist Yeider Fuentes Áreas was released from prison in October 2018, after having spent there more than two years. On 1 November 2018, he was summoned by the official Kevin to the police station in the municipality of Caimanera. The official threatened him and told him, among other things, that he is responsible for his case and if he did not follow his instructions, he would be sent to jail again. According to Kevin, the police has enough means to "neutralize" counterrevolutionaries and that there will not be any meeting or activity in Caimanera. And if they do not follow this line, they would be all imprisoned. The official also told him that he is not allowed to go to Guantánamo to meet with the other activists Yoanny Beltrán and Henry Couto who are not far from being imprisoned. The victim replied that if that was a crime, he would be glad to go back to prison since he would never quit his activism. Kevin replied that he would be closely following his case and would make his life impossible.
