Human rights activist Alexey García Beltrán arrived at the church, which is located in the central park José Martí. There, he was detained by the Major of the State Security, Alallo, and the captain of the political police, Sergio. He was taken to the detention unit known as Parque 24. There he was interrogated by Alallo and threatened, saying he could not attend mass at the church. The reason was that he sometimes serves as a photographer for the Ladies in White to film the repression that takes place with the women and the activists who attend the mass. He was released a few hours later.
