Jorge Luis Rodríguez Morejón was arbitrarily imprisioned and fined as a consequence of his claims against a congressmen of the National Assembly.

On January 28, 2021, Jorge Luis Rodríguez Morejón placed an offering at the bust of José Martí located in Batey Park. He indicates that on his way home he stopped in front of a crowd of people at one of the kiosks where there was a chicken sale. He claims that he saw the Delegate of his home, who also holds the position of congressmen of the National Assembly, and asked him to sell him chicken, to which the deputy replied that they had run out and that there was only some left for the residents of Indio Huatey. Jorge Luis reproached him because he always benefits the residents of Indio Huatey even if it is not their turn, that this harms the residents of Batey and that this is not the way to solve the crisis; he indicated that the entire conversation was recorded by the congressman with his phone, without his consent. The following day, Jorge Luis was at Morejon's house to paint some signs when a police patrol arrested him and took him to the police station of Perico, where he was confined in a cell and at noon he was interrogated for having disrespected a Congressmen of the National Assembly. He was told that he had to be prosecuted and that he would have to go to prison for a long time, that a young man born in the revolution should be respectful of a member of Parliament, then he was taken back to the cells and at three in the afternoon he was taken to the office of the police instructor, who told him that he would be given another chance and that he only had to pay the fine of 3,000CUP based on article 8, paragraph 3 of Law 175. He was released at four in the afternoon.
