Jean Pierre Isla Pérez, an independent lawyer, traveled to Holguín in order to meet members of organizations that promote civil and political rights in Cuba. When he was waiting for the meeting, few agents of Departamento Técnico Investigaciones (DTI) came to him. They told him that a computer similar to his one had been robbed some days ago and that he must follow them as a suspect. Later, at about 1 a.m., at the station of Policía Nacional Revolucionaria (PNR), police officials took his data, forced him to leave his things in the deposit and took him to the retention. Two hours later, the victim of robbery did not recognized Jean Pierre as the perpetrator and said that the computer was NOT the robbed one. Afterwards, officials asked him about the origin of the computer and other things. At about 5 a.m., the chief officer told Jean Pierre that they charged him with an offences of "receiving" and an administrative fine of 100 CUP (4 USD). Even more, he told Jean Pierre that all his things, except his mobile phone and wallet, would remain at the station. After showing his disagreement and asking for a copy with the intention to make a claim, they took him to the cell telling him that a State Security officer would explain him later. At 10 a.m., few State Security agents interviewed Jean Pierre and told him that all his declarations were false, that his activities are apparently counterrevolutionary and that all the PNR's conclusions will remain unchanged. They took him to the billing office in order to make him pay the fine and managed his return to Havana.
