Human rights activist from Guantánamo fined and threatened by State Security officials



In the afternoon, 3 February 2021, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Henry Couto Guzmán, was summoned to the police station known as Parque 24. When he arrived, he was taken to a prison cell where he was kept for more than one hour. After that, State Security officials Víctor and Lionis accompanied by a person in civil clothes came and handed him over a fine amounting 2000 pesos. Víctor said that it was “a present” for the posters which had appeared in Guantánamo. Then he threatened Couto with receiving more fines until he ends up in the prison.
