An activist from Baracoa threatened when applying for a jobs in the Ministry of Labor

On 19 January 2021, Yoaima Terrero Fagúndo was a victim of threats received from the police chief of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), Captain Gianny Clape Rodríguez. This happened in the office of the Head od Employment in the Ministry of Labor in Baracoa. Yoaima was in the ministry in order to apply for a job. After a while, the head invited the applicants to enter his office. Then he asked for a certificate proving that they completed their studies. However, Yoaima did not have such document with her. The official told her, using an offensive tone, that people applying there for a job are always lying about finishing their degree. Yoaima replied that she was not a liar and according to her it was rather him, since he was telling people that there was a job for everybody. When the police chief Gianny Clape Rodríguez, who was sitting in the office, heard it, he approached them and threatened Yoaima with a fine due to disrespect she was showing to a public official.
