Human rights activists threatened for their work

On March 29, 2019, human rights defenders Niober García Fournier, Henry Couto Guzmán and Arturo Acosta Guillén were summoned at 9am, 10am and 2pm respectively to appear before officers Víctor Víctor and Leoni, both from the Guantanamo Confrontation Unit. The three activists were warned and threatened for their work making public human rights violations and arbitrary detentions in Guantánamo. "Espionage will be applied to them for giving information to a foreign power," they were told in each interview in the Unit Operaciones.
