Anael Hernández, the second chief of the Baracoa sector, verbally attacked a Cuban citizen using offensive and discriminatory words against her, calling her a pervert, because she is a lesbian. The citizen told the officer that she was going to accuse him of discrimination. The officer then told the victim not to believe that because the government was giving them certain freedoms, they could do whatever they wanted and to be careful because any day they would end up in prison. The woman asked the officer if his statement was a threat, and the officer replied that she should understand it as she wished. This humiliation went unpunished because when she complained to the head of the first sector, Captain Gianny Clape Rodríguez, he replied that he already knew what had happened and that she was no one to disrespect authority, that she should be grateful that the officer did not accuse her, that if it were him, she would already be responding to a process for contempt of authority, because according to this officer, the population cannot be allowed to disrespect those responsible for enforcing the order.
