UNPACU activist sentenced to one year in prison

The victim was at the police station in Río Cauto together with other activists from the UNPACU in order to complain about the confiscation of his camera during the search in his house. When the officials told that they will not return his camera, the victim started to protest and was detained. Two hours later, he was driven to the court in Bayamo and accused of an assualt. Then, he was taken to the provincial prison Las Mangas where he was kept until the trial which took place on October 15. The victim was sentenced to one year in prison for disrespect.
