A human rights defender from Guantánamo threatened with imprisonment and fine



On 27 October 2021, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Bartolo Cantillo Romero, was summoned to the police unit Parque 24. There, a State Security official Lionis along with other officials gave the activist an official warning and threatened him with imprisonment. Also, they told him that from 10 November until 17 November he would not be allowed to leave his house. If he did not obey, he would be fined 3000 pesos.
