On August 11, Tomás Guerra was detained by police patrol car 608 when he was selling agricultural products, for which he has a sales license. Two police officers got out of the patrol car and asked him for the papers of the products and his license, so Tomas handed over his license. Tomás explained that he had bought the products legally from a farmer in the area of La Javilla, so he did not have any purchase document. To this, one of the policemen replied that he could choose between receiving a fine of 10,000 Cuban pesos or having the products confiscated; due to their value, the victim replied that he preferred to lose the products since their value did not exceed 4,000 pesos. Tomás was confiscated a sack of yucca, a sack of sweet potato, avocado and pumpkin, all with a value of 3700 Cuban pesos and was not given any document recording the fact.
