Human rights defender from Guantánamo detained while heading to Mass



Celina Osoria Claro is an activist and a member of the movement Ladies in White. On 10 November at 6 am, she was detained by the State Security (DSE) official known as Edwin Jefferson or Kevin and two uknown policemen. The detention was carried out when she was walking down the street La Avenida and Pedro Agustín Pérez, heading towards the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church. Celina planned to attend the Sunday Mass and to pray for the political prisoners. After the detention, she was taken to the DSE detention center known as Operations. She was released on the same day at about 8 pm without any further consequences.
