A Cuban citizen was the victim of acts of repression and threats by the Department of State Security (DSE) and members of the special troops on the 20th of february as she had her cell phone confiscated while she was walking down Marti Street. Specifically, she was arrested in front of the tobacco store, because she was supposedly recording a crowd of people who had been queuing since hours the night before to buy a package of chicken at the store that collects foreign currency called Las Novedades. The woman was arrested by the major and chief of the confrontation Alfredo Oliveros and several members of the special troops that accompanied him. According to her, after spending more than 12 hours in detention and more than 4 hours under heavy interrogation, where there were threats of all kinds, including imprisonment, because she was supposedly doing subversive work, she was released but not without an official warning because she was supposedly disturbing public order and for not respecting the laws that were in effect due to the situation of the coronavirus. The victim was also fined 500 pesos (15.94 EUR) and her cell phone was confiscated.
