Alexey Blanco Diaz detained for one day for supporting the campaign "No to gender violence"



On August 8, 2015, when Alexey Blanco Diaz, was participating at the campaign "No to gender violence" organized by the Latin American Federation of Rural Women (FLAMUR), he was unjustly detained. Alexey was telling to the captain of the State Security Juan Perez that the arrests they were doing, were illegal. Due to his opinion, Alexey was arrested being handcuffed and taken to the municipal police, where he spent 24 hours in detention. He was warned that if he returned to take part in the counterrevolutionary campaigns, they would not have compassion with him and would accuse him of disobedience, resistance or any other crime to remove him from circulation. Alexey Blanco Diaz is an English teacher, human rights activist since 2009 and member of the Partido por la Unión Democrática Cristiana de Cuba (PUDCC) and in the past has been victim of acts of repudiation, illegal search of his home and he has been threatened by several officers.
