Lawyer detained by State Security when travelling from Cienfuegos

Roberto de Jesús Quiñones Hacés was detained by State Security officials (DSE) known as Víctor Víctor and Modesto when he was passing through the security checkpoint in the Guantánamo Province. Quiñones was on the bus going from Cienfuegos where he wanted to visit his mother who lives there. When the bus was going through the municipality of Río Frío, a policeman stopped the bus and the above-mentioned DSE officials got on the bus and told Quiñones to get off because he was detained. Quiñones replied by explaining to the passangers that he was just a lawyer and an independent journalist and not a criminal. He was taken to the police unit knowns as Parque 24, where Víctor Víctor told him that criticizing the government is just usurping its legal capacities and his fake news are just undermining the international peace. He was released on the same day at 11 pm without any further consequences.
