Woman and her brothers held hostage after trying to purchase detergent from Cimex

Anairis Miranda Leyva and her brothers Adairis Miranda Leyva and Fidel Manuel Batista were subject to an attack when they tried to purchase detergent at a Cimex Corporation store, La Loma, on Avenida Capitán Urbino. When it was their turn to purchase detergent, the twins were refused by the head of the outlet, who knew them as counterrevolutionaries, terrorists, and ‘worms’ because they participated in an act of repudiation during November of 2016. Because the women demonstrated against the communist dictatorship, the aggressor, Silvia Rodríguez Infante, and the clerk locked the door and called state agents and officials. Her brother, upon hearing the discussion, demonstrated outside and knocked on the door to be let in. When agents failed to show up to represent them, the workers decided to release them.
