On September 22, Tamara Orduñez Leyva was participating in the event carried out by the Ladies in White each Sunday in the church, supporting the campaign for the release of regime opponent and human rights defender José Daniel Ferrer. When there, she was detained by State Security official called Víctor Víctor and several officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). She was then taken to the police unit known as Parque 24 where she was kept for about four hours, waiting for the release. Before being sent back home, she was warned against any further engagement in the campaign otherwise she would be prosecuted for disobedience.
