On 24 April, 2020, Ediyersi Santana was summoned to the provincial headquarters of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Camagüey. There he was fined by a company inspector who was accompanied by an agent from the Department of the State Security. He was also threatened by the official who told him that if he kept publishing on social media, he would be put in jail.
