Approximately at 2 pm on 8th September, activist Vladimir Guilarte Romero was arrested when the citizen Eusebio Tomasen offended him with words and tried to attack him physically. Among his verbal attacks Eusebio Tomasen accused Vladimir Guilarte of being a "counter-revolutionary in the service of the Americans" and threatened him. Mr. Guilarte responded by expressing his disagreement with the Cuban regime. The arrest was made by officer Gerneydi Romero Matos, the chief of confrontation with dissidents Alfredo Oliveros, Major Antonio Rodríguez, all of them officers from the Department of State Security (DSE), and by National Revolutionary Police (PNR) officers Gianni Clape Rodríguez and informants Ángel Santana and Sonia Duran Quintero.
