Activist detained and banned from leaving his province

Manuel was on his way to Santiago de Cuba province. When the bus was passing through the military checkpoint Río Frío, he had to get off the bus and was detained. Police searched him, looking for money and hardware and then took him to the Police Department in La Laya located in the municipality of Niceto Pérez. There, he was searched again and his bag was damaged. He was interrogated by State Security officer known as Raul who gave him an official warning for "usurpation of functions". Manuel was also banned from leaving the province. He was released at about 2 pm on the same day.
