An activist is arrested for the second time after leaving a work meeting.

On January 17, 2018, the activist of the Cuban Youth Movement for Democracy, Yordis Garcia Fournuer, was detained, along with two other activists, by officials from the Department of State Security after leaving a work meeting at the opponent Arturo Feliciano's house in the city of Guantánamo. After being detained for six hours, the officers issued a warning to Yordis for illicit association and mercenarism. This is the second arrest made to the activist Yordis in the month of January for which the authorities threatened him with prison and seized his cell phone.
