UNPACU Activist Falsely Accused, Beaten Up and Injured

After leaving José Daniel Ferrer in the bus terminal, Amado Verdecia and his brother Angel Verdecia were about to return to their respective homes when they were detained in front of ETECSA Palma by a patrol. The policeman asked Amado for his driving license. Hardly looking at the document, he said he it was expired. However, this accusation was false since the expiration date is of 2017. Consequently, the police officer found another excuse related to the car circulation in order to detain him. Ultimately, both brothers were detained and brought to the PNR of Palma Soriano, where they were brutally beaten to the point of fracturing three ribs and then threatened with death by an officer who pulled out a gun.
