On 15 September, 2020, a representative of the organization Independent and Democratic Cuba (CID), Esber Rafael Ramírez Argota, was detained. The detention took place in his house in the municipality of Antilla when Ramírez Argota was about to visit and support Miguel Guillarte Leiva, who was at that time on hunger strike. He was detained by State Security official, Lieutenant Colonel, Henrry Borrego Peña. At 2 pm, he was released after several hours in detention.
