Niober was threatened for his work defending human rights

Niober was summoned to appear in the Provincial Unit called Operaciones for Crimes Against the Security of the State of Guantánamo. "They told me again that I was going to be imprisoned for espionage; they assure that I send information about the military to the Cuban American National Foundation, something totally false", says the activist. They read the article of the penal code and told him that he would be imprisoned for 20 years, that this was his last chance. They issued a warning letter for taking actions against the constitution, and for, according to them, seeking information about the Cuban military to give it to foreign powers, in addition to carrying out counterrevolutionary activities. They told him that they have a file about him, that every time they make a warning letter the file gets larger. He was also told that in the following days they would draw up a list of opponents who work for State Security and that he could be on that list.
