Bárbaro de la Nuez Ramírez was on his way to the municipality of Aguada de Pasajeros. Suddenly, the police stopped the bus and one of the officials said: "Look, who is going there!". Bárbaro started explaining other passangers that he was not a deliquent, but a human rights defensor. After that, he was ordered to get off the bus. He was handcuffed and put into a patrol car. The officers drove him to Ocho Díaz where he was kept in full sun until midday. He was then taken to the Police Department in Aguada de Pasajeros. When one of the State Security officials arrived, Bárbaro showed him his ID and told him about the way he was treated. He was released few minutes later. Several days later, he was summoned to the police station and fined 200 pesos. On September 30, he made a complaint to the Military Prosecuter, but he was told that the complaint didn´t meet the requirements.
