A Guantánamo activist threatened with prosecution due to his participation in 11 July protest



Mario Álvarez Kindelan was summoned by the sector police chief of his neighborhood to the police unit known as Parque 24. The summons was carried out based on the State Security’s instruction. Once there, he was threatened for not having a job and being linked to the protests from 11 July, where participants accentuated key social topics in the country. Álvarez was threatened that if he continued supporting domestic opposition in the country, he would be prosecuted for disobedience and dangerousness. He was released 6 hours later.
