On November 27, the ashes of Fidel Castro were transferred through the town of the human rights defender Roberto Almaguer González. The day before, several police officers came to his house to arrest him without any arrest warrant or any accusation. He was taken to the police station where he was savagely beaten by the State Security agent Yoniel Doné and the police officer Miguel Romero Riberi. The beating affected his two ribs and caused him several bruises on his face. His mother was allowed to see him only when the bruises on his face had disappeared. In addition, he was constantly psychologically pressured with threats of going to prison. After 17 days, he was released without any charge.
