Young man arrested and threatened under false accusations

A 19 year-old youth was officially summoned by the sector chief, Lieutenant Carlos Gainsa, because of an anti-government sign that appeared written on the wall of the water pumping booth in the Bermejal neighborhood blaming the government for the lack of water service there. The president of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the neighborhood blamed some young people for the event, or failing to know who it was, because they often remain close to the site. Major Alfredo Oliveros threatened the young man with arrest if he did not say who painted the walls of the hut where the turbine that pumps water for the local people is located. He was also threatened with having his recent driver's license revoked if he did not cooperate with the investigations. The Major also told the young man that he knew he was participating in the counter-revolutionary seminars that Keyber Rodriguez was giving at his home so he could be prosecuted. He advised him to think about what he was going to say since he could not afford to be playing with his luck. The young man replied that if he was looking for him to incriminate himself for something he hadn't done, he could put him in jail because he didn't know anything about it, that it was a mistake to arrest him, and that he wasn't going to lend himself to watch the lives of others. The activist was released after being threatened that if he was seen around the pump house and something happened, the first person they would go out to look for would be him.
