Human rights defender arbitrarily detained by the State Security

On Tuesday, August 15, at 9:30 am, when the human rights defender Luis Alberto Arrastía Sánchez went to the workers' training workshop organized by Asociación Sindical de Cuba (the Cuban Trade Union Association) in the house of an independent lawyer, he was arbitrarily detained for 30 minutes by the State Security Captain Juan Pérez, who threatened him and forbid him to continue to the event. The victim became very nervous because, in the past, the same officer imprisoned him for a year for an fabricated delict. However, he was actually arrested for joining and participating in the meetings of the Independent and Democratic Cuba party. After half an hour, he let him go with the warning that if he tried to outwit him, he would be prosecuted for disobedience and contempt.
