Activist summoned by State Security to the police station and threatened with prison



At 9 am, José Antonio López Piña, a human rights defender and a member of the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO), was summoned to the police station in the municipality of El Cristo. When he arrived, he was received by a State Security (DSE) official known as Michel. The official informed him that they had opened a criminal case against him for so-called pre-criminal social dangerousness. According to the official, his case is in preparatory fase and the reason was his alleged anti-social engagement. José Antonio was also told to cut his ties with the ADO otherwise he would put in prison. He was released at 11 am on the same day without any further consequences.
