Sonia Ester Santana Herrera wanted to travel with another Lady in White for Holguin province in order to participate in the Mass celebrated by the Pope, while he was visiting the island. When she was passing the checkpoint of the village Rio Frio, police stopped her and told her that there were orders to prevent her from continuing her journey. They spent two hours in a room at the back at the checkpoint. Eventually she was sent back in a car, so she lost the bus fare she had paid.
